Jeremy Corbyn said he has no idea what’s going on in Mhairi Black’s mind after she said he backed independence.
The Paisley SNP MP said earlier this week the Labour leader had told him in a conversation he was “personally sympathetic” to Scottish independence.
Mr Corbyn has now denied the claims.
Speaking in Glasgow he said: “She is completely wrong. I have no idea what is going on in Mhairi Black’s mind. I can’t answer that.”
He said he did have a conversation with her but that her recollection of it was false.

He said: “She seems to be having a strange memory about a conversation I had.
“I would say to Mhari Black to think of the future, think of austerity and inequality and how we fight that.”
He said if Mhairi Black was to think about those questions “the answer would be Labour”.

He added: I’ve never supported Scottish independence. I want to lead a UK Labour Government
“We must invest in equality that’s the important issue.”
