A MAN has been arrested in connection with a "violent" robbery in which a man was attacked with a machete in East Kilbride.
Around 4am on Saturday, April 14, a 55 year old man was assaulted when he, his 56 year old wife and their 26 year old son, were confronted by four men who had broken in to their home in Castlehill Farm in the Kittochside area.
They were held in a bedroom upstairs whilst the suspects ransacked the property, taking a sum of cash, jewellery, car keys and the family’s black Range Rover.
Police have arrested and charged a 27 year-old who is believed to have been involved in the incident.
The accused will appear in Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
