A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after he was found with stab wounds in a supermarket car park.

Dozens of police rushed to Asda in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire. after 7pm on Tuesday.

The man was taken to hospital from the car park, although it is understood the incident did not happen there and the area was cordoned off.

A roundabout in nearby Torrance, which is believed to be linked to the stabbing, was also cordoned off.

A roundabout at Balmore Road was also sealed off with two Police Scotland officers standing guard at either side.

The Evening Times understands the victim raised the alarm with emergency services at Asda car park in Bishopbriggs. 

It is also understood he was in the car with another man.

The van had the logo Mitie which is a firm that offers a range of services from cleaning to security.

In Torrance, officers were seen searching within the large cordon near the roundabout at Balmore Road.

It is thought the two incidents are connected and both locations are a five minutes drive from each other. 

Residents took to social media to express their concern at the large police presence in the East Dunbartonshire areas. There were also several unconfirmed reports of the nature of the incident.
