Crowds of veterens, cadets and serving members of the forces gathered in the sunshine today at George Square to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
Marked as an occasion for the public to show their support for the forces, the event in the city saw the Lord Provost, take The Salute in her role as Lord Lieutenant alongside Brigadier Simon Graham, Group Captain Keven Bailiey and Commander John Cunane.

The 1st Battalion Scots Guards, Royal Marine Band, veterans and cadets all took part in the parade which made its way up through George Square this afternoon with crowds watching on through a sea of British flags.
Armed Forces Day was established in 2009 to honour the country's servicemen and women and their families across the Army, Navy and RAF.
The Evening Times reported in April on how the event almost didn't happen as Green Party members criticised proposals to bring the parade back to the city as it would glamourise war.
Tory and SNP councillors had called for Glasgow to commemorate Armed Forces Day despite the Ministry of Defence pulling funding for an event last year.
But Green councillors Martha Wardrop and Jon Molyneux insisted that focus should go towards raising awareness of the cost of war.
