  • What is your Fringe show about?

My show is about being a bit mad, getting what I wanted and realising I still need professional help

  • How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?

This is my third hour. my first was a massive mistake a documentary drew followed me flyering in the rain. I played to an average of two people. The Documentary ended with a clip of me crying and saying “I haven’t validated myself as a comedian”. I learned a lot from that year.

  • What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?

The time I’d my first reviewer in and we had to postpone the show for 20 minutes as someone shat themselves in my room. I was just crying spraying charlie body spray around. It was very warm and my stage was an inflatable tropical island.

  • What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?

The rent and the feeling that everyone knows a secret that I’m not in on.

  • If you were not a performer what would you be doing?

Temping or the dole, i’m struggling to think. Maybe my grand aunt would take pity on me and I’d help her run a B and B. These are the only feasible options.

  • How do you prepare for a performance?

I take a fizzy vitamin supplement and write the set on my hand. I might do a pace if it’s a special occasion.

This jewellery shop called Joe, If i feel sad, I’ll buy some earrings that look like little astronauts.

  • What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?

Witness a bit of casual sectarian violence.

  • Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Anything from Paradise Palm’s or the Sicilian pastry shop on Albert street.

  • Sum up your show in three words

I feel awkward.

Show summary

Alison got her own TV show in Ireland. She thought all her problems would melt away. Turns out she was wrong. Can Alison get mentally healthy before the show airs and people start calling her Big Momma's House on the internet? No.
