Glasgow is celebrating its partnership with Berlin with a giant cardboard model of the Brandenburg Gate - with a Mackintosh twist.
The cities are co-hosting the inaugural European Championships and volunteers have been building the cardboard bricks at The Briggait all week before assembling them on Glasgow Green.
One of a number of events in a cultural programme tied to the Championships, the public-built cardboard tower project is titled The People Unite.
Glasgow is staging six sports, aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, golf, rowing and triathlon, while Berlin is hosting the athletics.
Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, said: "The European Championships are cementing the relationships between Scotland and our co-hosts Germany and we can see this in the wonderful cultural collaborations that are part of Festival 2018."
Berlin Permanent Secretary, Aleksander Dzembritzki, said: "It takes many helping hands to work together in order to set up this great art project.
"When I am back in Berlin, I can proudly claim that I helped to set up this version of the Brandenburg Gate."
