DOZENS of Glasgow roads will be shut off today to make way for a gruelling cycling challenge.

The Pedal For Scotland event will take place throughout the day across the city centre and the east end.

A number of roads will be closed, while others will be changed to one-way only.

Bus lanes will also be subject to suspensions as thousands of cyclists travel around the city as they make their way to Edinburgh finish line.

To make way for the ride, roads will be closed completely while others will be changed to one-way only.

The following roads will be restricted to all vehicles. Loading and unloading as well as parking will also be prohibited during the event.

From 6am to 1pm on September 9, 2018

Glasgow Green (East Carriageway), for its entire length

Greendyke Street, between Charlotte Street and Saltmarket.

The Green(East Carriageway) Saltmarket, between Clyde Street and High Street.

High Street, between Saltmarket and Duke Street.

Duke Street, between High Street and Cumbernauld Road.

Cumbernauld Road, between Duke Street and Appin Road

Alexander Park Street, between Alexander Parade and Cumbernauld Road

Springboig Road, between Edinburgh Road and Tynecastle Street
