HE might have sold more than 30 million singles but Jason Derulo remained as down to Earth as ever as he celebrated his birthday bash at Glasgow club Distrkt.

The stylish night at the cool venue saw him mix with fans and new friends including Scots viral star Bash The Entertainer and his infectious laugh.

Bash had helped Jason’s party to go with a swing by providing extra bottles of Luc BelAire sparkling wine at the soirée which cost thousands of pounds.

He told me: “I heard it was Jason’s birthday and I’m sponsored by BelAire so we thought we’d get him some extra bottles.”

Our Bev was lucky enough to bag an invitation to Jason's big bash

Having met Jason at the Malmaison hotel that evening, I was invited down to celebrate his 29th birthday at the club.

It felt pretty cool to be in his company again.

I’d actually had the pleasure of meeting him pretty early on in his career when he went go karting with Radio Clyde’s Romeo (David Farrell) and I at Scotkart.

He told me at the time that he was a classically trained ballet dancer and I remember him being very focused about what he was doing.

It was great to see how humble he remains despite his success.

He and his team gave me a guest list to the gig and it was brilliant to see him in action.

One lucky fan Genevieve Eddie from Peterborough was even sung to by him on stage for the track It Girl.

It was lovely to hear too that he met one of the Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker kids before he’d gone on stage.

He is a very nice guy.

Other performers should take note.
