PASSENGERS have hit out at SPT as services on the Glasgow Subway’s outer circle remain suspended this afternoon.
Staff first raised the alarm during the morning rush-hour at 8am, and said: “Outer circle suspended due to defective train at Kelvinhall. Apologies for any inconvenience. Inner circle is still running.”
Furious commuters slammed the travel provider, with one labelling the situation “utter rubbish.”
This is utter rubbish. The inner service is packed so full that you can’t get on it. Are subway passengers able to use their season tix on Scotrail? No of course not.

Now five trains passing through bridge street that only about 2 people managed to get on.

Send the train around behind it to give it a push to the Broomloan Road sheds or have the brakes locked on? If not then get Britains 3rd largest city moving again as it is Monday morning. Commuters need to commute!

7 or 8 mins between trains on a single line is ridiculous. Use some initiative to keep the tube running. There is definetely a major safety issue cramming people on trains like this. It will come back and bite.

Is this now open? I take the inner circle but couldnt get on the platform at Shields rd nevermind the actual train as it was so busy. I am now in a £25 per day carpark in the city as I had no alternative (unless I wanted to be an hour+ late for work)

Fair enough the outer circle is suspended... these things happen BUT why is there no staff stopping people cramming into the trains? One girl was so crushed against the wall she was nearly in tears! pic.twitter.com/jBcAHqoxgR

As of noon, services on the circle are still not up-and-running.
Glasgow Subway said: “Apologies. All outer circle remains suspended. We are working to get normal service resumed ASAP. Extra services are running on inner circle and a shuttle service is operating between Govan and Patrick.”
The outer circle is now running. All Subway services are running as normal. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

The outer circle has since opened.
