A STRETCH of the M8 near to the Erskine Bridge is closed after a smash between a van and a HGV.
The crash, which is believed to have also involved a car, occurred between junction 29 St James and Junction 30 Erskine Bridge westbound around 10.10am this morning.

Traffic is queuing back to the Junction 27 at Arkleston.

Emergency services are on the scene and drivers have been advised to avoid the area if at all possible.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.20am police were called to reports of a road crash involving a lorry, a van and a car on the M8 westbound junction 29.

"Emergency services are in attendance."
Ambulance crews and a trauma team rushed to the scene before transferring two people to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Recovery of the vehicles is underway, however, it is expected to take some time before traffic returns to normal.
Glasgow Airport warned those travelling to catch a flight to allow extra time for their journeys.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call today at 10.30am to attend a road traffic collision on the M8 in Erskine.
“We dispatched three ambulances and our trauma team to the scene. Two patients were transported to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.”
