A NEW branch of a radical climate campaign group has launched in Glasgow.
Extinction Rebellion held its first meeting in Govanhill with further events planned.
There are also local groups being established in Edinburgh, St Andrews, Dundee and Stirling.
A total of 82 people were arrested during "rebellion day" in London on November 17, which saw five major London bridges blocked by activists.
Thousands of climate change activists brought the capital city to a partial halt on Saturday with the action.
Extinction Reaction said its plan for Scotland is to encourage non-violent but disruptive direct action to spread the message of climate change.
Extinction Rebellion will be giving talks throughout the city over the next few months.
The group has arranged events in Govanhill's Locavore and Offshore Cafe on Gibson Street.
