Police are appealing for information after a 33-year-old man was seriously injured within his Toryglen home. 

The man was at home at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, November 27, when two men entered the property and seriously assaulted him with a knife and a baseball bat.

The two men then started shouting threats and made off in an unknown direction from the property on Toryglen Road, Toryglen.

Emergency services were called and the 33 year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Both suspects are described as being tall and of average build. They both had local accents and were wearing balaclavas.

One of the men was wearing a white hooded top and the other wearing a dark coloured top.

Detective Constable Paul Mooney, Cambuslang CID, said:“This was a violent and targeted attack on a man within his own home. The two men responsible left the property in a hurry, whilst shouting.

“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our communities and therefore it is vital that we trace those responsible.

"Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries and checking CCTV in the area, however we are appealing for anybody who has any information to come forward.

"Think back, do you remember seeing or hearing anything out of the ordinary in the area yesterday afternoon? We urge you to contact us."
