THE incredible Susan Boyle cannot wait until her performance on America’s Got Talent airs in January.

Susan said: “I received a phone call from Simon Cowell and flew over to the States for the show.”

The singing star, from West Lothian, was on sparkling form at the Scottish Music Awards on Saturday night at Glasgow’s SEC.

Glasgow Times:

I’ve had the privilege of her company a number of times now and she’s looking better than ever.

Susan told me: “You do get nervous but it’s good nerves. It’s a very special night for Nordoff Robbins too – the 25th anniversary so congratulations to them.”

To Russia with love after awards success for hit music maker Tom

HITMAKER Tom Grennan didn’t stay about for the after party following his headlining spot at the SECC.

Tom who appeared on BBC Strictly It Takes Two over the weekend, had to dash off after picking up his trophy at The Scottish Music Awards for best UK artist.

Glasgow Times:

He explained: “I’m heading straight to Moscow,  first thing in the morning so I’ll need to party there instead of here to celebrate my award. I’ve always loved coming to Scotland and playing shows here and to be recognised by Scottish Music Awards is amazing.”

In the hot seat as my old uni launches its first podcast

GLASGOW Univeristy have just launched their first ever podcast and I’m thrilled to say they picked me as one of their first subjects.

I met up with hosts Kezia and Rosie in Mharsanta in Merchant City.

Glasgow Times:

I’m a former student at Glasgow Uni where I studied French and Management honours and on the podcast I’m in brilliant company alongside original Glasgow Girl Amal Azzudin, Kian Golzari who is in business with Lebron James and Neymar, Belle and Sebastian’s Mick Cooke and Dragons Den businesswoman Corien Staels.

I loved hearing Amal’s real life version of The now famous Glasgow Girls story.
