GLASGOW singing sensation Gerry Cinnamon has been nominated for two major awards at next year’s Global Awards.

The 33-year-old from Castlemilk has been recognised in the “Best Indie” and “Rising Star Award” categories.

He will go head-to-head with the likes of Liam Gallagher, Mumford & Sons, Stereophonics and “The Greatest Showman” star Keala Settle.

The Global Awards will bring together all of the media company’s radio stations, including Capital, Heart, Smooth, Radio X and Gold, to celebrate the biggest and best-loved stars of music, news and entertainment.

The huge night will take place at London’s Eventim Apollo on March 7.

Other stars nominated for awards include Lady Gaga, Drake, Cardi B, Jess Glynne, Cheryl, Mark Ronson, Ariana Grande, Arctic Monkeys and Liam Payne.

Some of the world’s greatest artists will take to the stage to perform for fans and stars, including the world’s biggest girl band Little Mix, superstar pianist Lang Lang and two of the most successful British acts of recent years - Blossoms and Anne-Marie.

Ashley Tabor OBE, Global’s founder and executive president, said: “After our massive debut year, we are incredibly excited to reveal the return of The Global Awards.

Next March, on one huge night, The Global Awards 2019 will bring together every Global radio brand to celebrate the biggest stars of music, news and entertainment in the UK and across the world.

“We can’t wait to crown our winners and welcome some of the world’s greatest artists to the stage at one of the biggest nights in the music and entertainment calendar.”
