Police are re-appealing for information after the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man in Glasgow.

At around 1.35 am on Tuesday, December 18, a dark coloured BMW was deliberately driven at him on Carnarvon St, Woodlands.

The young man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated by medical staff and has since been discharged.

Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Greenshields, Drumchapel CID, said: “The injured man had come out to assist the occupants of a Toyota Aygo car that had been pursued by the BMW and a black Volkswagen Scirocco from Albert Dr in Pollokshields, through the south side of Glasgow via Cook St, on to the M8 northbound then off at the Great Western Road slip road, in to St George’s Rd and then finally into Carnarvon St.

“During this pursuit, the BMW struck the Aygo, which had four men on board, causing it to swerve. The driving of all the cars was somewhat erratic and would have no doubt attracted the attention of other motorists using that route.

“If anyone remembers seeing the cars along that route between 1 am and 1.35 am on Tuesday morning then please get in touch with police. We have been checking CCTV and motorway cameras but are keen to obtain any dash-cam footage motorists may have of the pursuit.

“The only descriptions of the men driving the BMW and the Scirocco is that they were all Asian in appearance. We believe there were four in the first car and two in the second car.

“We also understand that all involved are known to each other, however, that said, a man was injured and the manner of the driving was such that other people could easily been affected during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Drumchapel CID via 101 quoting incident number 0200 of Tuesday 18 December 2018.
