A MAN has died after being hit by a train on the Glasgow Subway at rush hour.
The Evening Times reported on Monday evening how emergency services were on the scene at West Street station dealing with an issue with a passenger.
Both circles were suspended for a period of time.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four fire appliances attended the station.
British Transport Police said its officers (BTP) were called to West Street at around 10.15pm following reports a person had been hit by a train.
Officers attended the location alongside colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
However, it has now been confirmed that a 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and his family has been informed.
A file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal, said a BTP spokesman.
