A young girl is fighting for her life after being hit by a car.
The 12-year-old is in a critical condition after being struck at The Loaning, Motherwell, around 4.15pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
The area is currently closed while police continue investigations.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 4.15pm on Tuesday 12th February, police were called to a report of a 12 year old girl having been struck by a vehicle on The Loaning in Motherwell.
"Emergency services attended and the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where her condition is described as critical."
