RBS HQ in Edinburgh has been evacuated after suspicious packages were found excalty at the same time the University of Glasgow was out on lockdown after a package find in the mailroom.
Police rushed to the RBS building in Gogarburn in Edinburgh as staff were evacuated.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 10:50am on Wednesday, March 6 2019, police received two reports of suspicious packages found at the University of Glasgow and the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh.
"Emergency services are in attendance and both buildings have been evacuated. At this stage there is nothing to link these incidents. The items will be examined and enquiries are ongoing."
It comes as students and staff at Glasgow University have been escorted from campus after a "suspicious package" was found in their mailroom.
