THE son of Celtic star Leigh Griffiths has cerebral palsy.

Jacob's mum Linzi McCartney revealed she was "proud" of her youngster and his journey in a post in honour of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month.

Speaking of the five-year-old, she said: "Cerebral Palsy awareness month. I don't even know what I can say about Jacob other than how incredibly proud I am in how far he's come over the last couple of years.

"Falls countless times a day which has resulted in trips to A&E but he just gets back up and gets on with it.

"Throughout it all, he's complained only a few times saying he wishes he was able to keep up with his friends.

"He hates his legs etc, gets frustrated with it a lot in having to wear his splints everyday but like the little trooper he is, he just carries on with his daily challenges.

"So proud of him, never change Jacob. You're an absolute credit to us."
