DONUT lovers queued at Glasgow Fort today as Krispy Kreme opened its latest venue.

Yin Lee, from Falkirk, was first in the queue at the new rocket ship-shape pop up, and was delighted to get his hands on a sweet treat.

The grand opening saw a few dozen shoppers line up to get their hands on a donut.

Krispy Kreme has been a huge success all over the UK and has now made its way to Glasgow Fort for the grand opening

Many people had already queued from the early hours of the morning to get a first look at the brand new rocket ship-shaped store. The first dozen people in the line were awarded with Krispy Kreme goodies. Other people in the queue also had the chance to spin the Krispy Kreme 'spin to win wheel' offering loads of extra prizes.

The first three people in the queue were given vouchers and a goody-bag for being the first people to arrive. Yin Lee from Falkirk received the top voucher as she was first in the long line of customers and had arrived before the event had even began.

Andrew D'Arcy who was in the queue with this partner and child, said: ''It's quite exciting. It's something new and it's always good when there's something new at the Fort.''

This is the sixth store to open in Scotland with more set to open in Edinburgh shortly.

Craig Evans, UK new store openings manager for Krispy Kreme said: ''We are always on the lookout for new stores and in terms of our recent search, we found that we were able to develop a good relationship with the shopping centre really quickly and it sells very quickly and it just felt like a really good opportunity.''

He added: ''We are currently centred around Glasgow City Centre and we obviously have our factory retail store in Braehead Intu. It's a good opportunity to come to this side of Glasgow and hopefully get to meet more Glaswegians.''
