TRIBUTES have been paid to a "Castlemilk legend" found dead in his home on Monday.

John Bonnar's body was found within his home in Downcraig Terrace around 4.15am, just hours after his beloved team secured a 2-1 defeat over Rangers.

The 24-year-old had taken unwell and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Castlemilk Community news said: "RIP Castlemilk legend John Bonnar "Taken from his family far too soon after gaining angel wings in the early hours of Monday morning."

While another friend added: "Absolutely devestated and heartbroken at the sad news.

"Still hasn't sunk in. Thoughts are with The Bonnar family at this difficult time.

"R.I.P John Bonnar."

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.15am on Monday April 1, police were called to a report of a man having taken unwell within a property in Downcraig Terrace, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
