A SHOPLIFTER sparked a major police probe - after nicking a bottle of juice from a store.
Four cop cars were deployed to the petty theft on the corner of Allison Street and Daisy Street around 9.15pm last night.
A member of the public called emergency services after believing a shopkeeper was attacked inside Polish and Romanian supplier Afrin minimarket.

But today it emerged the incident was the theft of a soft drink - and the shopkeepers seemed unconcerned.
One staff member at the shop said today: "A man had stolen a bottle of juice from the shop and that was it.
"There was nobody attacked and it's all okay."

Speculation on community groups from earlier in the day suggested a shop keeper may have been attacked by a group of young people.
Police Scotland confirmed there was a shoplifting incident on Allison Street at around 8.15pm.

A spokeswoman said: "Around 8.20 pm on Tuesday 9 April 2019 police were called to a report of a theft at a shop on Allison Street, Glasgow. Enquiries are ongoing."
