Barras Food Trucks Fest, Moncur Street, Today, 11am to 6pm

AFTER the success of the BACKYaRD opening last weekend with a whole load of the best of Scotland’s food trucks in the heart of the world famous Barras Market, the area is again ready for its second Food Truck Fest with a fantastic selection of eateries and some of Glasgow’s finest DJs providing the soundtrack for the day. Pop along ready to eat at the best street pop-ups. Sweet or savory, you’ll be covered. The event is child and dog-friendly, so pack up the whole family and head to East end of the city to indulge in something a little different. Free to attend.

Southside Fringe, Various venues, Ongoing

THE festival kicked off yesterday amid much anticipation and continues tonight with a plenty happening across the south of the city. Today sees the Southside Fiesta Procession kick off at noon. Head along and celebrate the launch of the festival and all things wonderfully diverse. Wear colourful clothes, wave flags as the launch procession passes through Shawlands. Local schools and businesses will all be providing lots of wonderful colour. The fiesta celebrations will continue at 1pm at the newly created square at Langside Hall. FROZEN’S Anna will meet and greet kids in time for breakfast and plenty of fun activities. Every child will get a mini manicure and polish, blusher and lipstick, glitter arm tattoo, plus their very own tiara. There will also be storytime with Anna, arts and crafts and plenty of party games singing. Once everyone is ready and the activities are complete, Anna will parade the kids back to join the adults after which they will enjoy their chosen brunch.
