A TOUR operator is looking to send one lucky Scots bartender to the Caribbean to swap the mundane for glistening Jamaican sun as they pour pints in paradise.

Virgin Holidays has partnered with Floyd’s Pelican Bar, regularly cited as one of the world’s coolest bars thanks to its unique location floating on stilts in the crystal blue Caribbean Sea.

By snapping up the job, the lucky candidate will give the bar’s namesake owner, Floyd Forbes, the chance to take his first holiday in 18 years.

Floyd spent plenty of time sinking a few beers in the area while fishing and was so impressed with the scenic beauty he wanted to share it with more people, building his bar in 2001.

Since then, it has become a mecca for locals and tourists alike, but has kept Floyd so busy, he hasn’t been able to take a break for almost two decades.

The lucky applicant will take their position behind the bar - that is only accessible by boat - this summer.

The job description states the ideal candidate must be willing to commute by boat or paddle board, eager to chat to - and get to know - locals and tourists, manage the music playlist, throw the occasional fish to the resident pelicans, welcome passing boats and be able to multitask.
