The team wrote: “One of our drivers has spotted cabling hanging on the overhead wires near Woodhall.

“It’s hanging too low for trains towards Gourock and Wemyss Bay to pass under safely.”

Overhead line engineers from Network Rail are en route to remove the cabling at around 8am.

Trains are expected to be delayed or cancelled until around 10.30am.

ScotRail has requested replacement buses at Gourock, Wemyss Bay, Port Glasgow and Bishopton.
