DISNEY and The Greatest Showman superstar Zendaya has sent a dying Glasgow girl a touching video message following an Evening Times appeal.

We reported previously how we backed a Springburn family's bid to have Zendaya record a message for Kiara Buonomo, who has been given just months to live after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

The seven-year-old was desperate to have her idol record a special message for her, and even knows every word to her song the Wonderful Life.

The Evening Times reached out to Zendaya and she quickly responded asking us to put her in touch with the family via Twitter.

After some talks, little Kiara’s dreams have finally come true.

The 22-year-old star tells the little girl in the clip, shared by dad Aldo, how she is "desperate to meet" her and give her a cuddle.

She adds: "Hello Kiara, it's Zendaya here.

"I just wanted to say hello, it's so nice to finally meet you over the phone.

"You can shake my hand, I wish I could give you a big hug and be there to meet you in real life and say hello.

"You, I've heard are awesome, I've heard you love Greatest Showman and Smallfoot.

"I even saw a video of you singing along to Smallfoot and you sounded beautiful.

"I just wanted to send you my love, I hope you're doing amazing and hopefully one of these days I'll actually be able to meet you in real life."

Zendaya then blows kisses to little Zendaya and rounds off the clip with a "virtual hug".
