MORE than 40 streets across the city will be closed on Sunday during a Glasgow road race. 

Thousands of runners will take part in the Men's 10k Glasgow on Father's Day this year. 

The event, which looks to raise awareness for men's mental health, will again kick off at the Riverside Museum.

Runners will then make their way along the riverfront, past the SEC Hydro and into the city centre, working their way towards George Square.

From there, participants will cross then cross the river, head around Glasgow Green, before finishing up by returning to George Square. 

Two events, in Glasgow and Edinburgh, will take place simultaneously. 

As a result of the race, a number of traffic measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of runners and volunteers.

A policy of no waiting, loading or unloading will be in place on the below routes from 3pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019. 

From 6am on Sunday, June 16, all traffic will be prohibited on the routes. 

Roads will reopen as the event passes and equipment has been removed, before fully reopening at 2pm.

As well as the closures, seven bus lanes in the area will also be suspended from 6am until 2pm.
