A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being hit over the head in the street following Celtic's treble Treble.

The 24-year-old was attacked on Paisley Road West near to Elizabeth Street around 8.15pm on Saturday.

The thug, who is understood to have been part of a mass brawl on the street, then escaped in an unknown direction.

He is described as a white male, wearing a yellow jacket with a white tracksuit top with green sleeves.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for her injury.

Detective Sergeant Ainsley Clark, Govan CID, said: "Violence will not be tolerated and we are carrying out a number of enquiries, including checking CCTV, to try and trace the person responsible.

"We believe the man may have had either part of a tree branch of part of a cardboard box which he used to injure the woman.

"A number of people were in the area at the time and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything, or have any information regarding this incident to get in touch with us."
