GLASGOW recorded the fastest house price growth in the UK in the first three months of the year.
Overall, prices in the city were up 5.1% against the same period last year from January to March.
Typically, properties in Glasgow shifted for 5.2% above the asking price during the quarter.
Across the UK, the average difference between asking prices and selling prices for homes rose to 3.9% in the first three months of 2019, up from 3.3% in the same period last year, according to Zoopla’s latest Cities House Price Index.
The online property firm said that this is substantially higher in London, where the selling price was on average 5.7% below the original asking price.
Houses sold at lower prices due to “weaker market conditions” and “harder negotiations” from cautious buyers, according to Zoopla.
