SURGEONS are battling to the save the leg of a police officer who was hit by a car in Glasgow's east end.
The Evening Times understands the injured cop is in surgery at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was rushed after being struck on London Road around 10.50am.

The officer was assisting a broken down vehicle when the collision occurred.
A man has been arrested following the smash and an investigation has been launched.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
