GORBALS swimming pool was shut suddenly on Sunday and part of Monday amid an “incident.”
The closure of the Ballater Street facility was announced online on Monday morning by Glasgow Club.

The team wrote: “Gorbals swimming pool is currently due to an incident. The closure will allow us to carry out a strict cleaning regime in line with our Pool Water Treatment protocol. The pool is currently scheduled to reopen at 2.00pm today. Apologies.”

A spokeswoman for Glasgow Life confirmed the pool was closed unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon after a user fell ill while in the water.
She told the Evening Times: “Staff dealt with the incident as quickly as possible, and the pool will reopen at 2pm this [Monday] afternoon.”
