A MAN has been left with cuts to the head in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The 24-year-old victim was set upon by a gang of three men on Beardmore Street, Clydebank, on Monday, June 17 at around 9.45am.

A short time later, a black Volkswagen Polo was found burned out on Baljaffray Road in Bearsden. This is believed to be the same vehicle used in the incident.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and treated for his injuries and later released.

The three suspects were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and made off in the black car that headed towards the Parkhall area of Clydebank.

Detective inspector Ogilvie Ross, Clydebank CID, said: “Violence and fire-raising are both extremely dangerous and we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible. This does appear to be a targeted attack.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or was in the area on Monday morning who may have information that can help us.

“Our officers are going through CCTV, however, we would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area of Beardmore Street or Baljaffray Road around that time to get in contact as they may hold information that could assist our enquiries.”
