THE family of schoolgirl Chelsea Bruce have pleaded with a band to pay tribute to the tragic teen at TRNSMT.

The 16-year-old died on Sunday morning after attending a party in Springburn. It is believed she may have taken ecstasy.

Her cousin Kayleigh has now been trying to get the attention of Catfish and the Bottlemen online and said Chelsea, a “huge fan,” was meant to head to Glasgow Green to see them on Saturday.

Writing on Twitter, Kayleigh said: “I know this is a long shot but worth the try.

“On the early hours of Sunday morning my gorgeous cousin Chelsea Bruce suddenly passed away.

“She was a huge fan of Catfish and the Bottlemen and was meant to be attending TRNSMT festival to see them this weekend.

“Would mean so much to all her family and friends if the band could do a tribute to her during the show on Saturday night.

“Everyone would be so extremely grateful and would've meant the world to her!”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At 2.30am on Sunday, July 7, police and emergency services were called to reports a 16-year-old girl had taken unwell and collapsed at a flat in Fernbank Street, Springburn.

“She was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she died a short time later.

“A post-mortem will take place in due course, to establish the cause of her death, which at the moment police are not treating as suspicious.

“Two male youths, aged 16 and 18, were also in the flat and also felt unwell. They were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and have since been released.”
