THREE homes have been destroyed after a fire in Lanark.
The incident took hold at around 2pm and saw three engines rush to Braidfute, just off Smyllum Road.
Smoke and flames billowed out of three properties that have been left gutted.

One local told us how residents in the area don’t know how the blaze started.
The eyewitness said: “Three houses have been destroyed. Locals are still unsure how the fire started.
“Three fire engines were on scene for around three hours as black smoke plummeted out of doors and windows. Locals are still unsure if there were any casualties.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman, however, said there were no casualties.

She said: “We received a 999 call at 1.44pm to a fire in Lanark. We mobilised two pumps initially to a dwelling fire. We then increased it to three pumps. There were no casualties.”
No more details were available on the incident.
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for more information.
