MESSAGES of love and admiration have been posted on social media following the death of Glasgow actor Rony Bridges.
The performer, who had appeared in a number of roles over the past 20 years, is understood to have died on Sunday.
Mr Bridges was perhaps best known in recent years for his appearance in the Star Wars Saga.
The actor played a First Order Admiral in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, with fans of the films posting their own tributes online.

Alongside this, Rony also had parts in fantasy film Valhalla Rising with Mads Mikkelsen, Dear Frankie, as well as a number of appearances in Rebus in the early 2000s.
As well as his roles in films, he was also a writer, author and playwright, as well as being involved in the Glasgow charity Star Child.
Rony's wife Michaela is a former Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year nominee for her work with the charity.
She said she is devastated after Rony's passing, adding: "I am heartbroken beyond words but I'm blessed with amazing friends who have been like angels this past month.
"He fought this hard and bravely for as long as he could."
Friends and family have taken to the internet to share their memories of him.

Fellow Glasgow actor Robbie Crossan called Mr Bridges his mentor, and posted an emotional tribute online
He wrote: "My heart is totally shattered. On Sunday (The Admiral) Rony Bridges left this world for the great stage in the sky.
"Rony was not only a friend but also my mentor, a true inspiration and the person who got me into acting. He was also a man of many talents, an actor, playwright, storyteller and very funny guy.

"Rony was a selfless kind hearted person who raised a massive amount of money for the Star Child charity.
"Until we meet again Admiral. Sleep well and May The Force Be With You Always."
Gabriel McCaffrey wrote on Facebook: "He was such a lovely man and we will miss him so much. RIP."
Carol Lee added: "Thank you for being you - caring, kind, and always taking the time to chat with my son, brother and I. You will be sadly missed."

After his death, a Just Giving page is expected to be set up for charity.
Michaela added: "My friend is about to set up a just giving page in his memory for the sunflower sanctuary for autism in Uganda.
"We have been working on this project for a few years. Sunflowers were Rony's favourite flower and he fulfilled his dream of walking in a field of them in Italy."
