TV favourite Paddy McGuinness has hailed Still Game as the "best British comedy on tele" ahead of the upcoming live Hydro shows.

The Take Me Out host heaped praise on the Scottish programme via social media.

Posting on Twitter, McGuinness said: "Watching Still Game on @BBCOne.

His post racked up the likes and shares after it was posted last night and even Still Game creator Greg Hemphill thanked Paddy for his thoughts.

Plenty more folk agreed with the comic actor, giving their own opinions on the comedy hit.

One fan wrote: "I concur Paddy the early ones are just side splitting".

Another said: "I agree! And I got my mancunian dad into it and now he messages me in Scottish".

One commented: "Ooooooft,quite the accolade patrick!"

A fourth responded: "Its brilliant and the kids absolutely love it. Enjoy".

Still Game's final farewell shows head to the SSE Hydro in September.
