A NEW pizza and dessert restaurant has been given the go-ahead in the city's Trongate.
Project Pizza will open up at 173 Trongate now that city planners have approved plans for the use of the ground and the first floor of the premises as a restaurant.
On their website, Project Pizza says they allow you to design and build your own bespoke pizza. Using a unique 12-inch thin crust, you can then choose their signature red-sauce, BBQ or all-white olive oil base. Then you can pick from over 30 toppings.
The firm has restaurants in Dundee, Reading, and Birmingham. They have already been given permission to take over a vacant unit on Renfield Street.

We previously revealed that Project Pizza applied for permission to open a second restaurant in Glasgow's city centre - before their first has even opened.
In the Trongate restaurant, the ground floor will have seating for 50 while upstairs will have space for a further 136 people.
A statement accompanying the plans said: "The unit is proposed to be occupied by Project Pizza, an award-winning pizza restaurant (winner of Independent Casual Dining Restuarant of the Year 2016 and PAPA Industry Awards 2015).
"This unit would be Project Pizza's second store in Glasgow. Project Pizza allows customers to design and build their own bespoke pizza.
"The proposed opening hours are 8 to midnight, seven days a week."
