RIVER CITY stars Frank Gallagher and Paul J Corrigan showed their support to a charity collection at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The BBC soap favourites helped The Kano Foundation raise £10,514.42 during the collection at the game which saw the Hoops beat St Johnstone 7-0.

The charity, which has given over 9,000 kids the chance to have a unique match day experience at Celtic Park since 2010, relies on the generosity of Hoops' supporters to keep football free for kids and is fully fan-funded.

The Kano Foundation is also run by volunteers and the collection, held on Celtic's opening flag day game, was the organisation's ninth consecutive season at Parkhead.

Actor Paul J Corrigan, who plays Stevie Burns in River City, said: "Thank you to the Kano Foundation for your hospitality. A great cause and the kids were brilliant."
