A GLASGOW cafe that specialises in sugar-free cakes has opened a new shop due to a surge in demand for healthier sweets.
Poppy Murricane who owns Rawnchy on Maryhill Road has expanded with a new base in Dennistoun in the city’s East End.
The business was launched in 2016 and Poppy is now supplying her raw, vegan cakes to 25 outlets across Scotland including Martha’s and Urban West and Piece in Glasgow.
All her cakes are free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar.
Cake lovers are spoiled for choice with flavours including Passionfruit & Coconut, Lemon & White Chocolate, Matcha Mint Choc and Lavender & White Chocolate as well as a healthier 'Bounty' cake.

Poppy said: “I am keeping the Maryhill shop and expanding it into a slightly larger cafe and then moving the main bulk of the ‘kitchen’ to Dennistoun which is where I will make all my wholesale cakes for the next six months.
“Then I will slowly start making Dennistoun into a cafe like I did with the Maryhill shop.”
