THE promoters of Playground Festival have promised the event will return next year despite the weekend of music being marred by teething problems.
In a statement issued last night, three days after the festival closed, the promoters said the complaints about long queues on Friday during Groove Armada's headlining show were ironed out as the weekend progressed.
Playground Festival bosses also said that they were disappointed that US superstar Lauryn Hill's set was cut short and insisted that they did everything to stop this from happening.
Their statement comes after festival-goers demanded a refund and hit out at the organisers over a lack of communication.

The statement said: "We had some minor teething problems on the Friday with queues but on the Saturday we improved systems which resulted in a much smoother service for the rest of the festival.
"We are truly grateful for the positive comments and messages of support we have received. It has been fantastic to see that so many of you have had a great first festival experience at Playground which we will build on for next year.
"As many of you will know, Ms Lauryn Hill performed for 34 minutes due to her late arrival on site. This was hugely disappointing to us and the wider team who have worked so hard behind the scenes to make the festival happen. We really did all we could to prevent this being the case.
"Ms Lauryn Hill has now made a public apology to her fans and to the festival for her late arrival and shorter set."
The statement added: "We have received an overwhelming amount of support for Playground Festival to return. We have listened to your feedback and will implement those suggested changes to improve the overall customer experience and make it an even better experience next year."
