Emergency services raced to a busy north Glasgow street this evening after a woman fell ill on the pavement.

Police were called to Saracen Street just before 9pm where they found a woman had taken unwell near to the cross area.

Ambulance crews also attended and the woman, whose age has not been disclosed, was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Her condition is not yet known.

Pictures show numerous ambulances and police cars on the scene, as worried locals look on at the incident.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
