A WOULD-BE robber struggled with a teenage boy to try and nick his mobile phone.
The shocking daylight robbery bid happened in Hamilton's Whitehill Road on Tuesday at around 4pm.
Police said the 15-year-old was approached by a man who demanded his phone before struggling with him and running off.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8inches tall, approximately 30-years-old with dark hair, slim build, and a local accent. He was wearing a pale blue jacket with dark bottoms.
Detective Constable Gary Milligan, of Cambuslang CID, said: "The victim wasn't injured but it was a frightening experience and we're appealing for any passers-by, including drivers with dashcam footage, to contact us if they have any information about this incident.
"Similarly if anyone has seen someone fitting this description acting suspiciously around this time, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 2475 of 20 August 2019."
