FIRST Minister Nicola Sturgeon was able to take time out and smell the flowers as she saw the transformed Govanhill Baths, which have been turned into a forest and flower wonderland.
The changes were made by the Scottish Civic Trust, working with Floraboration, and are part of a programme of events to celebrate the Doors Open Days festival’s 30th year. These will include 360 virtual tours of inaccessible buildings and tours in Arabic, Farsi and Gaelic for the first time.
Doors Open Days let the public look behind the scenes at more than 1000 of Scotland’s best buildings every weekend in September free. Those living in postcodes G42 7 and G42 8 will be given priority access to see Govanhill Baths.
