A teenager has been charged following an incident of alleged abuse involving Celtic captain Scott Brown outside Ibrox on Sunday.

A video emerged on social media following last weekend's Old Firm derby showing the midfielder being allegedly targeted by a fan relating to the death of his sister.

The Parkhead favourite tragically lost his sister Fiona at just 21 after she lost her battle with skin cancer in 2008.

Now, officers have said that a 15-year-old has been charged in connection to the incident.

As a result, they have been referred to the early and effective intervention coordinator.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told our sister title the Evening Times that officers had dealt with the scenes at the time and no official complaint had been lodged by Celtic or Brown.

The clip, originally posted on Facebook, showed the Hoops skipper, 34, leaving Ibrox Stadium to board the team bus.

On Tuesday evening Rangers officials confirmed that an individual would be "banned for life from Ibrox" as a result.
