The newest stage of Glasgow's Queen Street station renovation will start on Monday.

Two of the platforms on the Upper Level of the station will be closed until October 14 as they are extended to accommodate longer trains.

Closure of platforms 4 and 5 will affect services on the Anniesland and Cumbernauld lines.

Services between Anniesland and Glasgow Queen Street via Summerston will only run hourly between Ashfield and Anniesland.

Additionally, services between Edinburgh and Queen Street via Cumbernauld will start and terminate at Springburn.

Passengers on that line will have to change at Springburn and take a train to Queen Street Low Level.

Queen Street is Scotland's third busiest station and it is currently undergoing a £120 million redevelopment and extension.

This week the final panes of glass were added updating the look of the station's exterior facing George Square.
