Police investigating an assault on a Glasgow train have released a picture of a man wanted for questioning.

A male was attacked at around 12.30pm on Saturday, August 18 on a ScotRail service from Edinburgh Waverley to Helensburgh Central.

It is thought the assault took place between Bathgate and Caldercruix railway stations.

Cops have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as white, approximately 35-40 years old, of slim build with grey scruffy hair and grey stubble. He was wearing a dark blue jacket and blue jeans.

The man has a very distinctive tattoo of a face on the back of his left hand, along with tattoos up his arms and neck.
