How the Celtic players rated in their 1-1 draw with Rennes.
Fraser Forster
Had nothing to do for half an hour and then pulled off a fine diving save to deny Rafinha. Had one interesting clearance in the first half which he just got away with. Solid as always. 7
Hatem Elhamed
Piled forward and got some joy but that did leave space behind him. The Israeli is a confident character and was positive in possession. But he was caught out of position more than once. 7
Christopher Jullien
Superb again. The giant centre-half looks a proper player. His tackle to stop Falvien Tait on the edge of Celtic’s box was times to perfection. Was immense in the closing 15 minutes. 8
Kristoffer Ajer
Was having a good night until he got everything wrong when he brought down Mbaye Niang for the penalty. To be fair, he didn’t allow it to affect him which showed good character. 7
Boli Bolingoli
Up against £20million Brazilian Rafinha and dealt with him really well. One low first half cross should have brought a goal. Was having a good night until forced off with a groin injury. 7
Scott Brown
Picked up an early daft booking but had some great moments. He won tackles, kept possession and wasn’t far away with a header. Captain just keeps going on. 7
Callum McGregor
Great performance. A fantastic run early on from his own box which took him past three red shirts set the tone. Strong at the back, clever with the ball at his feet. 8
James Forrest
This was a typical Forrest European performance. He produced some fabulous touches, went close to a winner with a long-range effort and won the penalty. 7
Ryan Christie
Was coolness personified when he put the ball into Rennes’ top corner at the penalty which came about in part from an excellent pass by this clever playmaker. 7
Mohamed Elyounoussi
Came within an inch of a first half goal. He’s rusty still but there were signs of an exciting talent when het gets on the ball and runs at players. 6

Odsonne Edouard
No goal this time but this was another composed and mature performance from the 21-year-old. His first touch was excellent, so too the Frenchman’s link-up play. A daft dive which got him booked was the only negative. 7
Substitutes
Oliver Ntcham
Did what he always does these days when coming off the bench. Brought intelligence and calmness to the midfield and almost scored. 6
Johnny Hayes
What a performance as the replacement left-back. Put it and won crunching tackles from his first involvement. 7
Bayo
Got on with six minute of the 90 to go and was still able to get booked for persistent fouling and then got sent off. Silly, silly boy. 1
