A WOMAN has been raped in a Glasgow city centre lane.
Police have cordoned off West George Lane this morning between Hope Street and Wellington Street.
Officers stood stationed at either side of the cordon while detectives appeared to be carrying out their own investigation.
The force confirmed that they received a report of the rape on Friday, September 20. They did not provide further details on what time the attack happened.
They insisted that their enquiries were at an early stage.
A force spokeswoman said: "Enquiries are ongoing in the area of West George Lane following a report of a serious sexual assault on a 28-year-old woman on Friday 20 September 2019. Enquiries are at a very early stage."
