EX-RANGERS star Marco Negri bumped into current squad player James Tavernier in a designer store in Glasgow city centre.

The Italian, 48, who played for Rangers from 1997 to 2001, met right-back James Tavernier in men's clothing store END on Ingram Street.

Taking to Twitter, Negri heaped praise on Tavernier saying: "Around Glasgow bumped in this legend! Such a pleasure to meet you James Tavernier. Great guy and class player! C'mon GERS."

Negri was in the city with former player Michael Mols to take part in a challenge for Rangers Charity Foundation. They both climbed Ben Nevis at the weekend and once they completed the challenge the players paid tribute to Fernando Ricksen with a toast at the summit. Fernando died last week at just 43 after a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
