A YOUNG woman was attacked and her dog was stolen while she was out for a walk in Glasgow.

The woman's pooch was snatched late last night on Dumbarton Road.

Police are now investigating the dognapping and are looking to find two people who were seen in a dark car at the time of the robbery.

The victim took to Facebook after her ordeal to appeal for the return of her beloved dog.

She said: "I was attacked and my dog was stolen from me.

"Could everyone please keep their eyes out for my baby.

"Please share this post and help me find her.

Please there will be a reward for any information, please help me."

The woman's injuries are unknown but it is understood she was punched in the face.

Police Scotland also confirmed that they are investigating. 

A force spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland is carrying out enquiries after a woman was assaulted and robbed of her dog at 11.30 pm yesterday evening in Dumbarton Road, Glasgow.

"Officers are keen to trace two persons who were seen in a dark blue coloured car and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting 4087 of 6th October."
